Stolt Offshore Chooses TimeControl

Montreal, Quebec March 6, 2004--HMS Software, a leading provider of project management and enterprise timesheet systems, welcomed Stolt Offshore today as its latest enterprise client for TimeControl. Stolt Offshore is a leading offshore contractor to the oil and gas industry, specializing in technologically sophisticated offshore and subsea engineering, flowline and pipeline lay, construction, inspection and maintenance services. TimeControl is HMS Software's enterprise timesheet system designed specifically for project environments.

Stolt Offshore has selected TimeControl for use by its entire on-shore population, including administration staff. "We're delighted to welcome Stolt Offshore to our list of enterprise-level users," said Chris Vandersluis, president of HMS. "We're confident that TimeControl will deliver great results to the company."

TimeControl will replace various in-house legacy systems. "Our own systems have performed well for a number of years," said Klaus Bjordal, project manager at Stolt Offshore. "However, we are committed to including all on-shore personnel in the timesheet process and technology advances in recent years meant we would have to either make a major upgrade to our internal system or choose a commercial replacement". After several months of evaluation a selection committee chose TimeControl from a number of options.

Stolt Offshore worked with HMS Software's Norwegian dealer West Soft A/S to effect a complete trial of the system during the selection process. "We assisted Stolt Offshore with a structured pilot trial phase," explained Sigurd Arne Alnes, Managing Director of West Soft A/S. "Our technical personnel worked with HMS and Stolt Offshore to install TimeControl at a regional office of Stolt Offshore in France to ensure that we could deliver the results the company desired. Given its success, the pilot installation was left in place as the first phase of the major deployment that has already started." The purchase of TimeControl by Stolt Offshore represents West Soft's largest TimeControl sale since it began representing the product over two years ago.

Deployment of TimeControl has already begun with the first 1500 users being brought on-line in the first quarter of 2004. Personnel in France have already begun implementing the integrated system with additional Stolt Offshore locations coming on-stream throughout the world over the next few months. "We're working with Stolt Offshore to ensure a smooth deployment from the various personnel," says Stephen Eyton-Jones, Director of Technical Services at HMS. "Given the international nature of the implementation, we are working with both our Norwegian partners and Stolt Offshore personnel in France, the UK and the US to make sure that Stolt gets the right resources in the right location during the configuration and training phase of the project."

The announcement of the Stolt Offshore purchase follows other notices by HMS Software of expanded operations through its dealer network. "This year has been the most productive ever for our extensive dealer network," says Vandersluis. "We have over 25 dealers covering virtually every continent in the world. This sale by West Soft A/S shows our dealer sales expanding at an even more rapid pace and is one of the reasons we continue to be profitable in what is otherwise a challenging time for many in the IT industry."
