OFFSHORE READY: Strategies to Plan & Profit from Offshore IT-enabled Services published by ISANI Press

ISANI Press is pleased to announce the release of OFFSHORE READY: Strategies to Plan & Profit from Offshore IT-Enabled Services.

As Bill Gates dramatized on his recent trip to India, the opportunity to gain competitive advantage using offshore technology sourcing strategies has never been greater. Offshore Ready enables executives and managers with an understanding of the benefits and requirements of building offshore capabilities. It distills the lessons of how, when and where to move IT-enabled services offshore to save money and increase service levels in your organization while highlighting the broader issues of executive commitment, change management, communications, cultural integration and risk management. It is a roadmap for your future offshore initiatives and a diagnostic for challenges that you may be currently experiencing.

BACKGROUND

Offshore IT-enabled services including application development and maintenance, call centers and business process outsourcing can save companies 35 to 65% over their in-house costs. They create opportunities for operational and IT executives to maintain functional and technical equivalence while achieving significant cost reductions. Though ample data exists about the markets' size and growth, little information exists for the executive or operator wanting to educate themselves on the strategic planning and operational issues that must be managed to achieve sustained success. Offshore Readysm fills this gap and more. It contains 300 fact-filled pages of hard-won lessons, illustrative figures and insightful commentary on how to make offshore endeavors successful.

MESSAGE

Offshore Ready presents an integrated, practical view of operating in the offshore environment, something the authors call offsourcing, including the dynamics of offshore relationships, service provider options, risk management and approaches to cultural integration. Through case studies, industry analysis and personal experience, Offshore Readysm demonstrates the critical success factors to develop, implement and sustain successful offsourcingsm initiatives.

The authors offer a step-by-step plan for moving your organization from concept to execution. From tips on securing sponsorship to building your offsourcing roadmap, you will gain a perspective on the investment, processes, and support required to launch a successful offshore operation. This baseline is then refined, guiding you through target entry strategies, legal structures, governance, cultural integration and other critical components required to sustain offshore operations.

VALUE

Offshore Ready is a catalyst for executives, managers, providers and practitioners considering the benefits of offshore practices. It demystifies the world of offshore services allowing you to stand on the shoulders of proven professionals with experience as customers and providers of these services. It will help you save time and money as you build your new cost-efficient business model that leverages on- and off-shore business operations.
